Casino Crime Round Up: Oyo Hotel Broken Elevators Cause Complaints
Visitors at Oyo Hotel & Casino allegedly submitted grievances to Clark County authorities following irregular elevator service at the Las Vegas venue this week.
Guests at the hotel also expressed grievances on social media platforms about the malfunctioning elevators.
Numerous guests at the Tropicana Avenue gaming facility had to rely on the stairs because a majority of the elevators were inoperable on Wednesday.
"At one point, none of the elevators were operational and guests had to walk up stairs,” according to one complaint. “This was an issue as the reporting person stated their spouse was handicapped."
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, some of the hotel’s elevators also lacked proper permits during recent inspections.
Additionally, the report mentioned that in August and on the most recent Saturday, several elevators had trapped passengers.
Some were taken out of service after passengers were trapped in the elevators on August 30 and September 7. No injuries were noted.
On July 8, officials in Clark County got a complaint regarding malfunctioning elevators at the hotel. Previous issues were shared on social media platforms from March to July.
In the past, the casino-hotel experienced issues with air conditioning.
Slot Player Reportedly Used Massage Gun to Cheat
A man was arrested this week after he reportedly used a gadget to scam a slot machine at Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Washington State.
On Tuesday, Don Hitchcock, 51, was indicted. He showed up in a Spokane, Wash. court after being caught improperly using a massage gun, as reported by Washington TV station KHQ.
He was instructed to steer clear of gaming locations. The report disclosed that he admitted to utilizing the massage gun on the slots.
Over five visits during the past few months, police reported that Hitchcock utilized the device to disrupt the coin mechanism on the slot machine. Coins fell from the payout area because of his actions.
Driver Collides With Casino
A driver crashed into Papa’s Casino in Moses Lake, Wash. on Wednesday.
Authorities reported that the unidentified man sustained severe injuries and ultimately reached a restroom at a gaming establishment.
The unidentified 69-year-old driver reportedly suffered from a medical condition prior to crashing into the building, as stated by Spokane TV station KAYU. He was taken to Samaritan Hospital, where he received an examination and treatment. He is anticipated to heal.
No information is available regarding the severity of his injuries. As of earlier this week, he had not been charged.
The exterior of the casino building was harmed due to the collision. Authorities did not provide a cost estimate for the repairs.
